Information We Collect

When you use FreezeFocus, we may process:

• Focus session settings, such as selected session duration
• Completed focus session history, such as start time, completion time, planned duration, active duration, and paused duration
• App settings, such as whether sound effects are enabled
• Onboarding and testing preferences stored on your device
• App usage, screen interaction, crash, diagnostic, and performance information
• Anonymous analytics identifiers, such as an app install or device-level analytics ID
• Support messages you send to us

How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Run focus sessions and display timer experiences
• Save and show completed focus session history
• Remember app settings and onboarding state
• Provide sounds, haptics, and other app interactions
• Improve app reliability and performance
• Troubleshoot errors and crashes
• Understand how people use FreezeFocus and which features are most helpful
• Respond to support requests
• Maintain app security and prevent misuse

FreezeFocus is a focus tool. It does not guarantee productivity, task completion, health outcomes, or uninterrupted timer behavior.

Local App Data

Focus session history, app settings, onboarding status, and developer testing preferences are stored locally on your device. These local records help the app remember your preferences and show your completed sessions.

You can delete the app from your device to remove locally stored app data.

Analytics and Session Replay

We use PostHog to understand app usage, improve FreezeFocus, troubleshoot issues, and evaluate product performance. PostHog may create an anonymous analytics profile tied to your app install or device so we can understand repeat usage, sessions, and feature behavior over time.

Analytics events may include actions such as opening screens, starting or completing a focus session, session timing, changing settings, viewing session history, completing onboarding, app lifecycle events, and diagnostic logs. We do not use PostHog to identify you by name or email, and FreezeFocus does not currently require accounts.

We may also use PostHog session replay, which records screen interactions such as taps, navigation, scrolling, visible app screens, device and app metadata, and related diagnostic information. Depending on what is visible in the app, session replay may include focus session timers, session history, settings, onboarding screens, and other on-screen content.

We do not use PostHog session replay or analytics for targeted advertising or cross-app tracking.

Third-Party Services

We may use third-party service providers for:

• Website and API hosting
• Analytics and session replay, including PostHog
• Crash, error, and diagnostic reporting
• App distribution, including Apple App Store services
• Email and support

These providers may process information on our behalf only as needed to provide, maintain, secure, or improve FreezeFocus.

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not use app data for targeted advertising.

Payments and Subscriptions

FreezeFocus does not currently offer paid subscriptions, in-app purchases, or payment features. We do not collect payment card details, Apple payment credentials, subscription status, purchase history, or billing information through the app.

Data Retention and Deletion

We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide FreezeFocus, troubleshoot issues, maintain security, improve the app, or comply with legal obligations.

Local focus session history and settings remain on your device unless you delete the app or the app provides a way to clear them.

Analytics and session replay data may be retained by PostHog and used by us for product analytics, troubleshooting, and app improvement, subject to our PostHog project retention settings and access controls.

You can delete the app from your device to remove locally stored app data.

You may request deletion of information associated with your use of FreezeFocus by contacting matty.hempstead@gmail.com. We may need enough information to locate the relevant data.

Children's Privacy

FreezeFocus is not intended for children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information. However, no app, website, or internet transmission is completely secure.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
